Shocking unsafe work practices

NPAQ Calls for elective surgeries to be halted

As you may have heard, we have had distressing reports from members at Caboolture Hospital in relation to patient safety concerns and unsafe work practices. The shocking allegations made by our Caboolture Hospital members include “hacked” and preventable deaths, a staff member assaulting a patient and bullying of those who speak out in the interests of patient safety.

Our nurses are crying out for a solution to this issue and fear that their registrations may be at risk.

The NPAQ is calling for all non-urgent surgeries at Caboolture hospital to be suspended after claims of unsafe practices are investigated.

We have written numerous letters urging the Executives to protect Queensland Health employees and patients at Caboolture Hospital by launching an official investigation into the matter.
