Easter & Anzac Day – Nurse Pay Guide 2025 - QLD & NT

Easter & Anzac Day

All Private Sector Nurses and Midwives - please check your Award or Enterprise Agreement

Nurses Award 2020 - For all employees is 200% of your ordinary hourly rate for all ordinary shifts worked on a public holiday

Nurses Award 2010 - Personal Care Workers receive 250% for working Easter public Holidays

Queensland

Queensland Health  - Permanent Employees

(All casuals will be entitled to the public holiday penalty rate)

  • Good Friday:
    • If worked > One and one half times (150%) the ordinary rate of pay
  • Easter Saturday:
    • If worked > Double and one half (250%) the ordinary rate of pay
    • If rostered off > If you would normally work these days but not rostered on, then you should receive a days pay at your ordinary rate of pay
  • Easter Sunday
    • If worked > Double and one half (250%) the ordinary rate of pay
    • If rostered off > If you would normally work these days but not rostered on, then you should receive a days pay at your ordinary rate of pay
  • Easter Monday
    • If worked > One and one half times (150%) the ordinary rate of pay
  • Anzac Day
    • If worked > One and one half times (150%) the ordinary rate of pay
  • Labour Day
    • If worked > Double and one half (250%) the ordinary rate of pay
    • If rostered off > If you would normally work these days but not rostered on, then you should receive a days pay at your ordinary rate of pay
