EB11 What you need to know

Eb11 blog Nurse and ipad

QLD Health employed Nurses and Midwives will soon be covered by the EB11 Agreement once certified by the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission. Certified agreements cover your conditions of employment and are to be read in conjunction with the relevant modern award, which is the Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health) Award – State 2015.

In EB11 you can expect the following key changes:

Pay

Under the new agreement you will receive a 4% wage increase in the first year (back dated to 1 April 2022) and paid in a lump sum in the 21 December pay run. A 4% increase in the second year and a 3% increase for the third year.

Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA)

Depending on the rate of inflation, a Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) may also apply on top of these increases. This will be calculated in March at the end of each year and paid in June. The COLA adjustment is the difference between the inflation rate and the increase for that year up to a maximum of 3%. This will give you an equivalent to inflation pay increase as long as inflation does not exceed 7%.

Penalty Rates

An increase in Sunday Penalty Rates to double time.

Other Changes

  • Annual leave to be exclusive of public holidays
  • Fatigue leave for remote callouts
  • The right for part-time employees to have their contracted hours reviewed.

NPAQ will keep you informed of any further outcomes and timeframes contained in the certified agreement as it becomes available.
